Public liability insurance for subcontractors
Public liability insurance protects a business in the event that someone makes a claim against you for causing accidental damage or injury, whether to individuals or property. This claim could be made due to circumstances which took place either at your premises, or as a result of your business activities.
Self-employed public liability insurance
All self-employed subcontractors need public liability insurance.
As a fully-compliant company, Exchequer will request proof that you have public liability cover in place in the form of a cover note or insurance document.
In the event that you don’t already have a policy in place, we will cover you under the Exchequer Contracts policy and will increase our margin by £4 per week. Should you then organise your own cover in the future, please contact us, send in proof, and we will immediately remove you from our cover and reduce the margin retained by £4 per week.
